Universal Studios
Resident Vacation

The summer couldn’t end soon enough for seven lucky people. As summer’s end approached, the excitement built. It was time to leave for Walt Disney World! The vacationers are CILA (community integrated living arrangement) residents who attend day programming at Charleston Transitional Facility’s (CTF) Homewood location.

Eric Edquist, CTF Administrator, planned every detail, leaving nothing to chance. Eric and CTF Supervisor, Latoya Riggins, drove to Florida with Curtis, Darryl, Rex, Roger, Rose, Sue, and Zach on September 13, 2009, in a CTF van. Once in Florida, the group stayed in a villa that was rented in Kissimmee. They visited Disney’s Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. They also spent a day at Cocoa Beach and a day at Universal Studios in Orlando. The group arrived back home on September 21, 2009.

The resident vacation was made possible by grants from Community Services Foundation and the Carlucci Trust.
